Onlooker

Your memory invades against my will

As tangible as the salty tears I feel

Bitter sweetness at its worst and best

My arms ache for you; my broken heart protests

I long to remember, I long to forget

I long to undo the past I regret

By I am an onlooker, stuck in the sand

You have set sail, out of sight from the land

  3. A powerful poem....i can sense the true grief in your beautiful words....when our loved ones go on to heaven it is like that....they set sail....we stay on land. This is an amazing poem!
