Paper Love

My dear, My love

How I've enjoyed our letters. But more than letters, our conversations.
Getting to know you through your words.
Telling you my story. A chemistry on paper. Physical proof.

How I've long to meet you. I have, in my mind, imagined it so many times.
Always sweet and lingering. Always only imagined.
I long to meet you still. My soul mate.

Our embrace will be a salve to my lonely heart.
Your lips, a soft landing to my soaring emotions.
Oh, I have truly counted the days.

But can paper really be physical proof? of love? I have pondered this so deeply.
This love is too real to taint with reality.
Surely, we will ruin in. When the paper disappears and our stupid brains no longer have the time needed to find the perfect words to say.

I can not let it be ruined.

So, alas, my decision is clear. I have to keep you the way you are. Perfect.
And at a letter's distance. I love what we have too much to risk it for what could bring it to an end.
Please, my love, write to me. Do not take your words away. I need them so.
But if you do, I shall still have your letters. You can't take that away. Physical proof of our love.
I'll cherish them forever.

Resurrection Anticipation

Holding hands and dancing
Raising white flags while prancing
Emotions are enhancing
Where are the ones we miss?

Supernatural or Superstition
A hopeful disposition
A spiritual omission
They are in Heaven's bliss

No seance can appear them
Our memories must endear them
One day we'll be near them
We can be sure of this
